First visit to the town and headed to the Museum and Art Gallery. It's in an old building with a contemporary makeover. We started off in the Roman exhibition which brings exhibits to life with excellent info panels. We ended up in the cafe for a light lunch. We'll certainly be back to see more.

This is an excellent, vibrant and educational museum. Exceptionally curated and beautifully presented. A gem in the heart of Shrewsbury with one of the best shops I’ve ever seen in a museum.

A visit here is highly recommended. Many rooms to explore with a host of information - Shrewsbury over the centuries, archaeology · geology & fossils, industrial history. The building is smart and maintains its normal high standards. For elderly and disabled a very smart lift is available so no need to struggle up steps. Cafe has an inviting selection of cakes the apple muffins were delicious. How about that for free entry!
